Subject title: Trask's sketchbook attempt no.2!

hey! I'm mary / trask / minustrack on most social media (whichever lmao) - 17 and very much still learning. I would love any tips or critiques. I attempted to make a sketchbook a few years ago and I never stuck to it so I'm hoping to actually try and become a little more consistent.
anyway, here's a bunch of pieces I have laying around on my computer! some of these are a bit old, but i wanted to include a variety. let me know what you think!

Hey your drawings seems heavily inspired by tumblr. Is that intentional? Other than that, i love the last piece ♥♥

Please do more animation related drawings~~ I think those are really nice for your kinda style

Unintentional, but it makes sense because a good percent of the artists I follow and look up to share the same kind of vibe. :p

And thank you! I really like how the last one turned out. I'd love to do more animated stuff, but I don't really have a smooth method of doing it yet? Maybe I'll look into it more now!

So I went through and took pictures of my actual sketchbook! Excuse the camera quality, I know it's not the best and I don't have a scanner.
This should conclude all the pictures I'll be uploading of past work- anything from here on out will be more current and I'll just upload as I create new stuff!

Great colors, characters, and rendering styles. And you're only 17 - I so badly wish I'd gotten started as a teenager. At the rate you're going, your stuff is going to be amazing by the time you're ready for an art career (if that's what you end up choosing).

I think a good challenge for you would be to add some more expression to your characters' faces, since most of them seem pretty neutral to me. But that's just a suggestion, and you can feel free to take it or leave it. :P Keep it up!

thanks! Hands have been a huge obstacle for me in the past, but I think I'm getting a little better at them.. slowly but surely.

Okami was one of my all time favorite games when I was a little bit younger, it was so fun!! unfortunately I don't have the wii anymore, but I still remember it fondly.

Also thank you so much for saying that!! At my school we have to do a senior project for the majority of senior year and then present about it at the end of the year. That's a long way away, but one of my ideas was to start up an online store selling t-shirts / other products I design.
That encouragement makes me want to pursue it a bit more :D

Thank you so much!! It's funny you say that, I feel like I'm not very good for my age all the time so that makes me feel a bit better :p
I guess it's all relative to when you start really practicing though, right?

And I'll focus more on that! Sometimes I notice myself erasing expressive faces because they look strange, so i do agree I need to improve them, it's not just a style choice.

thanks for the tip! <3

hi again! here's a couple new things!

first, a quick kinda sloppy drawing of taako from the adventure zone
Image

and then these next two are a bit doodle-y, I was testing new brushes.

I also happened to make some stickers for my friend's birthday which are definitely silly and small, but I thought I'd go ahead and share them anyway!
Image

lastly, some timed pose practices from the line of action figure drawing tool.

also, i'm sorry for the large sized images, you may have to ctrl - a few times. My standard canvas is usually pretty big so sometimes I forget to resize.
that's all for now- see you soon!
