Hey don't let that get you down too much. As one artist put it, "If you quit now you'll suck forever".

You draw because you love it! If you gave up you'd be giving up a big part of you. And that's no fun :c

i don't think I'll ever stop drawing because It's a major make up of my routine and I'm not good at anything else :Y

vynka wrote:This is amazing, I love the style! So flowy it's very nice to look at. Also, grades mean nothing really, you should always look to what you grade yourself and work on that.

Thank you.

Zimatrix wrote:Don't worry about your grades in art - you're far better than I was at your age :D

And to be honest, grading art is pretty stupid anyway, you can't really apply an objective grade to something as subjective as art

Valkhira wrote:I've heard so many great artists say that art grades aren't important at all... what really matters if you want to become an artist is: having good art, making connections and being decent with people. Now, with what I see from your sketchbook: you already have art that catches the eye and looks awesome, people here seem to like you as a person, and you don't seem like a douche at all when I read what you write. You basically have all that it takes, you just need to keep going. So try to be above the negative and accept the grade, because it's there, but know that it doesn't mean much. And cheer up! Would be a waste to see such a young talent being sad, don't let it get to you.

Glad to know I come off as a nice person . . . :'D. Thank you for the kind words.

And to address all of your comments on my grade: I've gotten straight A's for a while but this year I haven't been able to quite say I've gotten straight A's considering I got a B+ in algebra but y'know I didn't really fret about it because I suck at math. This semester has been really bumpy. All of my grades are fluctuating all over the place and I can't seem to hold a solid A and just keep it that way and it's pretty stressful considering I WANT good grades (not saying B or C's are bad). I've been absent a little bit which is getting me behind and what not, so it's really not just art but yeah, that just kind of topped everything off at the end (It is basically my fault though, for having a B-. I could just talk to him about and probably fix it but he's intimidating and kinda scares me). :U

Anyway, this is a sculpture I've been working on. He's drying at the moment. Once he's nice and dry, I'll take him to my art teacher to have him fired in the kiln all the while hoping he stays contact in one piece and hope his legs don't fall off (considering they aren't carved out like the rest of him, making them pretty heavy. I picked him up earlier and they stayed on fine, but once he gets 100% percent dry without kilning the sculpture will become super fragile). Then I'd paint him! Which is my favorite part of sculpting. He's pretty heavy and big. I'm proud of the size I managed to construct him.
I apologize for such a bad quality photo

Wip of an entry for the "Blood of the beast" challenge contest thing. I've gone through a couple of ideas and none of them I really like. This one was the simplest so I thought I'd just stick with it. :/

Really like the way you are very playful with your lines, yet exert a lot of control at the same time. Your sculptures are really neat, too!

The first picture is the concept for "The Beauty of Spring" challenge. :Y I have no idea how to draw plants halp.

The second is a concept for a character I've been doodling a lot. Ahh I never draw people anymore I'm so rusty and I'm still so uncomfortable with digital still. My style gets all wonky when I try to do digital line art. It was good practice I guess. There are a lot of things going wrong though in this. (He's the Jack Rabbit of Spades, ha. Get it? ///slaps knee). He's a guard/ executioner and so far all I have is his informal outfit (or his guard/fighting outfit). I want to give him a formal outfit too which I hope will be really pretty ;u; I'll probably fix all the mistakes in this at some point (hopefully).

Wow!! I've been having trouble figuring out how to export this thing as a gif for the longest time considering the program I use, even being an animation program, doesn't have an export as GIF option. So I used GIMP, which I was also having a hard time figuring stuff out, being that it glitches a lot on my computer. And then the fps (or milliseconds in gimp) was giving me issues on this forum. It sped it up for whatever reason. But finally I got it to look okay? Not sure if it's too slow or too fast.

Anyway, first animation I did in Krita! I'm not an expert on animation, but It's fun and I kind of want to make it into a career one day :U Not sure. Also, it's unfinished and probably won't be. I'm fine with it being 98% done. It's pretty old by now, I've done a few more animations since (which are also left unfinished).

Something more recent? Just a quick practice animation for a character. It needs some tweaking still (I.e Ears and tail). It literally only has 4 frames. Not sure if the fps is decent. Tell me if it looks too fast or slow! Being only 4 frames its hard to make it not too fast or choppy.

Also, my laptop lags the program I use to animate so when I animate it appears slower than it would be :'/ can't wait for my new laptop.

Well, I haven't been drawing much lately because I've been in an art slump and I've pretty just been sculpting. I recently just finished this one and he's still drying at my school. He's also pretty big :U Don't know when he'll be put in the kiln. My rabbit hasn't even been put in the kiln yet. I can't wait to paint him when he is though.

These are the first things I've drawn in a long time. :B Some things happened today that put me in the mood to draw some warrior cats. These didn't take very long so ..... they're really simple. Also i have no idea how to draw cats.

So, name that warrior cat! :D

Oh, ha, yeah, I was when I was a kid (and still kind of am considering it was a decent portion of my childhood). I only read the first and second series though because I didn't like the direction it was going in. The series after those weren't as good in my opinion and I kind of dropped them. The first series was my favorite, and all the characters I drew were from it: Lionheart, Bluestar, Longtail, and Graystripe. :U

Thanks.

Also, I have a really old warriors oc named Milkfoot -- hooboy, remember those days!

omg awesome drawings! sculptures too! this wiggly, quirky flowy style you got is so cool! your colouring is very interesting too, shows forms well. Oh and the way you define the eyelids is pretty interesting. I just think your art is great already and really looking forward to how its going to progress!

AHH! Still figuring out how digitally colouring/painting a piece works >:0 My process so far is so inefficient. I scribbled this out in a few minutes considering my main focus is painting it (which has taken me a few hours so far >.>). I'll fix what I know needs to be fixed later. Any small critique or helpful tips are welcome ^-^

Well, I did take a few months haitus from this website. I'm really happy with my style right now, and I've noticed I'm having a lot more fun drawing andI'm liking my drawings more overall because of it. And, being a really swooshy round style it's pretty relaxing and unstressfull to just literally running my hand in squiggles on paper. I can't really explain the reason I make things really skinny though >:0

I haven't done too much to this thing since last time. I'm kind of stuck >:0 I know what I need to do/want to do but I just don't how and I'm afraid I'll ruin it. I want to add some orange/redish plants to add a bit more color, as well, and maybe some brown on the ground to signify dirt.

This is such an amazing sketchbook. I really, really love the different ways you go about mediums of art (the subtle differences between your traditional and digital art, and then the way you tackle sculptures). Are you still 16?
I want to be your princess.

Art tumblr
Deviantart

Haha, thanks! Not so sure I'm so in love with the way my digital art looks, even if "subtle"ly different from my traditional. Glad you like my sketchbook.

Sorry for the absence, I grew ill the last week of school. I was having serious sleeping problems that kept me from sleeping for 3 days in a row, over and over again, so I was feeling VERY drained and my body started to stop functioning correctly. This threw me out of my drawing routine and I've just recently started to draw again, slowly easing my way back into it. I still suck lol.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a doodle of a character from Fire Emblem. Niles. I love him to bits. This took me about 20 minutes? I've forgotten how to draw bodies . . . and my style isn't as wavy as it used to be because I'm rusty ;n;
In celebration of the beginning of Neso's comic, I've decided to do something special. That, and I feel like all of her hard work at uni and struggling to keep drawing during her hard times deserves a reward. This is a small, unfinished snippet of a larger animation I'm working on for her. It's of one of her awesome angel oc's whose design I feel like I'm butchering, but I'm trying to simplify it for animation purposes (I'm also having a hard time interpreting it because it's so complex -- which is absolutely amazing). I hope she likes it when I finish the entire thing. The head turn around is the easiest part of it (even though there are a lot of mistakes) so I'm sharing that as a little tease ;u;
Also, Neso, if you see this, I'm not sure if he has 4 or 6 wings but I'm only giving him 4 because 6 would be too many to animate o3o Sorry if he has 6!!!!! (I'm also going off of the first full body of him on page 93 and I'm worried it isn't accurate design wise because it's kind of old????))
