Subject title: WarriorSlime's Sketchbook

Hello there everyone, my name is WarriorSlime and I have decided to start posting some of my drawings on here. I normally never show anyone, however I have decided that I would like some feedback on my work to try and improve more.

A little background, I am 17 and I have been drawing everyday for now just around 3 years. I started this after I had quit drawing for about 2 years, but I started again because I got tired of just not being able to draw well. It seemed as if everything I wanted to do I had to draw and when I did it looked bad so I worked at it and here I am today posting trying to see what you all think. This thread was started a while ago, and the images seen here at the start were done when I was first starting out

Please Leave feedback. :D

Hello everyone, been a little while since the images up there ^^^ But I have some new ones(not the greatest because they came out of my sketchbook which is for my personal practice). I hope you all enjoy them and leave feedback, I would have more but for some reason I do more drawing on things I'm not suppose to be drawing on (like homework) than in my actual sketch book XD.

Deadpool Sketch I did right after the trailer dropped.

Location: Lithuania.... not really... I'm boring.

Glad you started a sketchbook here because it's looking amazing!the figures look especially nice but I think you could work on the faces a bit more. Maybe skull studies? I have also been drawing everyday for a little under a year... 301 days to be exact... I've been counting.

Hey WarriorSlime, it's cool you've started posting.
What are you looking for with your drawings, any particular style? Or maybe develope your own?

Keep posting buddy, practice makes the master!

Hi there Fergato, thank you for the reply. I'm not really sure how to really describe what I want with my drawings because I can't say "I want them to be good" because everyone's views on what "good" is, is different. So I guess I just want my drawing to be able when people see them to say "Wow" and maybe even someday get me a job. As for style I'm hoping to develop my own.

Thanks PitE, I would agree I need to work on faces. I have started working on them however they are not were I would like them to be yet so ya, I think I probably need to find some Skull books and find some images on the internet and do some studies. Thanks for reply!

Hi! you have some nice poses here =) if you wand to study head/skull maybe i could help, http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/dbms-witmer/3D_human.htm here on this site they have 3D skull models, it´s PDF so you don´t need any special program for it and it helps with depth (at least to me) :)
Hello. How are you? Have a nice Day. I'm socially awkward, sorry.

Style is subjective and so is subject matter, but fundamentals are definitely objective. There are good proportions and bad proportions. Good proportions that are stylized still look good and stylized bad proportions still look bad. Like you said earlier, doing figure studies is a great way that'll help. I suggest also learning basic construction (separating the figure into primitive shapes). It seems like you're doing this already with your sketches so I suggest learning the correct proportions through life studies or through photos. Ask yourself, how long and thick should I draw this cylinder that will represent the upper arm? Where is the center line on this oval that will represent the head? Where should I place the contour line on the thigh to show foreshortening? A lot of this knowledge comes from practicing so keep it up!

Hope that helps!

Looking good. Your proportions seem pretty good to me. Maybe work on gesture more. Specifically on using few more sweeping lines instead of more chicken scratchy lines. I recommend try to use pens when drawing. Do that will force you to plan ahead and over time builds confidence which is necessary for good drawing and painting. You don't have to use pen to do that but it helps. At the very least try and work on using longer, unbroken, flowing lines.
