monster hunter influenced? :)

and that thing in the beginning with sketches is for chosing a composition?
if so, i personally like the second of second row and the first of third.

regarding painting process - thanks, it's helpful

unfortunately, i almost never pierced that block concerning detalisation in painting not only because of lack of skill, but lack of ability to concentrate on something for the long period.

Um no. I've never played Monster Hunter. Don't think that's ever come out on PC.

Yes. I do thumbnails before I do a painting. Yeah I agree those are pretty strong comps with potential I may come back to them. I came back to this one after several months.

Here is a photo study I finished. Time lapse video can be found here:

Most are just made up but some are referenced. You can usually spot the referenced stuff it looks more precise and polished. It's taken me quite a while and having filled a lot of sketchbooks to get this good. I used to avoid drawing faces because I was so bad at them. One day I decided I needed to fix that so I started filling sketchbooks with faces and the rest is history which you can see in the earlier posts here.

Those last sketches are very nice, im loving that blue marker that you used as shadows. c:
I was wondering (you dont have to answer if this is too personal) do you have an art related job? - do you sell the painting that you make? Your craftsmanship is beautiful and those paintings just look professional, (that rock one totally looks like it belongs in a museum)

Nope, not yet. I'm working on it but it's proving to be harder then I anticipated.
