Subject title: Skyris's Sketch Book!

another rock!!

Now that's a beautiful rock! I have been meaning to try material studies like that for a while now.

I noticed that perspective studies reminds me of "How to draw book" by Scott Robertson. I did a bunch of those when the book came out. They are very mind numbing exercises.

Yeah the rock looks cool :D
Maybe you could try and apply it now to a landscape?

In my opinion I will say do more of these studies, until you feel you master it.Well you dont really have to master it, but just get to the a point that feel the form in a 3D space. I recommend also doing a bunch of those perspective studies in the previous pages too, does really help you grow as an artist. Then when your tired of doing studies, then make a painting that you want to do. You will see huge improvement in your artwork.

That's pretty much the advice I get from my mentor.

@ whymrwho @fluer Thanks! And yes im definitely going to do more of those studies. I having so much fun starting to understand things.
and you are right, the perspective stuff is from scotts robertson's book. Some of the sycra members and I are trying to finish the book in 4 months ( we are on our 2nd week atm). it is seriously some intense stuff T.T
With the studies I am trying to apply the materials while studying. In my opinion it is the best way to learn (learn the lessons then apply the lesson then repeat xD)

There you go. My thoughts are exactly the same.

Yeah that book I had to put on hold around page 78. I tend to get lazy, especially as something as perspective, which is all math. Having people around doing the same definitely helps not slacking off, since you can motive each other in doing it. I don't have that. I have to motive myself, and sometimes I go to Chris Oatley podcasts just to hear other people how they deal being artists and all that fancy stuff.

Have you read Perspective made easy?? Also get the Dvd that Scott has about perspective. The first one is probably the best one.

I went to bed right after I posted here, it was already 5am. Anyways I'll be honored to join in. Idk how the whole thing of hangout works, but sounds like a good time. Maybe I can finally finish the book.
