Subject title: MonoOrder's Sketchbook

Hey guys! I'm amazed at the activity here in this sketchbook forum. This site seemed like a niche place but it's really rumbling with activity and I'd like to join it!

Here's a sample of some of my artwork and studies I've done.

It kinda was niche at the start of the year, but it seems to have kicked up since june or so.

Anyways, welcome to the forum MonoOrder.
What is nature, but a miserable little pile of forms!?

Nice work, I like the first still life.

I think you should work on keeping your foreground, middle ground, and background separate like this:

Obviously you don't want to leave everything flat like that, but it lets you know that's as light as things can go(exceptions are made for accents); the foreground should never be lighter than the mid-ground, and the mid-ground should never be lighter than the background.

Ambiguity - thank you so much! I can get really lost when it comes to values and I need to remember to keep things simple. Sorry for not responding sooner, I really appreciate the help!
marvel57 - Thanks! I was focusing on getting readable compositions with these.

I haven't been productive since my last post. Took a short break and now I'm back to studying! Here's what I've been working on:
