Wow I love Mike Malm's stuff. I had to look him up after seeing your study. He does such beautiful lighting!

If i can offer any feedback on your study of the young woman, it would be to watch the drawing of the silhouette. The hand shape is a fairly pointed and the neck is slightly too long (look at negative space between chin and shoulder).

yeah i actually tried to challenge myself and removed the original image from my second monitor after a while and tried to reconstruct the rest as best i could without it, hence it looking not entirely the same

just did the five minute challenge, get a master painting up and you can only look at it for five minutes, then you have to paint the entire thing this is of another mike malm painting but to be honest they look nothing alike

photostudy using only an airbrush to build up from low opacity then a mixer brush just to create some lost edges

Thanks a lot, I try to practice quite often, i think my piggest weakness currently is understanding the forms well enough to be able to add bounce lighting and reim lighting while defining the 3 dimensional of the form

Today was a slow day and i couldnt figure anything out so today was just about trying to get some nice foreshortening and anatomy down although even there was a bit of a failure

Such a cool concept. I wish I had this visual clarity in my paintings!
