THANKS omg lol gestures are so hard. One day i'll get good

i was still in a drawing mood and i don't think i've ever tried to draw realistically before, so i tried to draw kirk and spock (i was actually waiting for the episode to buffer)
it was just a sketch so kirk looks slow

hey nice to see you are still working on yourself, I will advice you to watch your proportions. From some of your figures I see mistakes, especially your heads are looking small.. Check some literature about human proportions first and than make that step in to anatomy if its what you want to do... I really like your actual style though, so IMO you dont need to know anatomy if you want to do cartoon illustrations, but its up to you what you want to learn.. Knowledge is always good :) Keep working

Consistent style all the way through. I think that's good. Especially if you keep perfecting a popular style. Do a kids book! :ugeek:

Thanks guys,

you guys actually reminded me why I started drawing in the first place, which was mainly to tell stories... with my own characters, so i'm going back to my fav characters and really trying to flesh them out

Great stuff! Looks like you have really come into your own kind of style. I love it, and I love how expressive your characters are!

I love how much expression is in your artwork! There's so much feeling and attitude in them! Also your progression is great!

Your anatomy, proportions, and composition still need work (and your already on your way to getting those down) but I think you are great at telling a story through your artwork and illustrating emotion. Which personally I think is harder to learn than the others, and more valuable in the long run :)

Good work!

Thanks so much guys :) I actually want to be an illustrator so I guess my next step would be backgrounds... I think. I really don't know how to approach doing backgrounds so lately I've just been copying what kinds of backgrounds I want to draw from different artists I like. I'll post those soon.

a self portrait of me in my cool madagascar tshirt.

I admit this isn't a "true painting" because I used a picture and traced the line art over it. I just wanted to paint something without the stress of measuring over and over again to get the proportions right.

:(

the direction of the lighting is pretty clear, i think you did a good job for characters of that complexity. I'd like to see a pastel kind of approach to your style, I think it'd suit it pretty nicely. Cool stuff :)
