Love your stuff. The rendering and the anatomy are so neat!

@Spider: Thanks, I'm hoping to get even better :).
@Joyce: Hahaha, blame kalo. Have I been working like crazy? I think it's pretty underwhelming compared to a lot of people, but thank you :).
@RAC00NIE: Glad to hear it, and I hope that's neat as in cool, and not neat as in clean lol.

I've been feeling really weird for the past week, everytime I wake up I'm super tired even though I get 8hrs of sleep. That means not much work at all from me unfortunately :\.

Here's some iterative drawings on the same pose. Jpeg keeps telling me how stiff my portraits in this pose are(personally I think it's more of a perspective problem) so I tried to fix that, but I wasn't successful apparently:

Some random noses from reference:

And a new portrait painting for my commission page:

Thank you, I'm not quite sure what you mean by "prostrational" by the way. I'm glad the video helped out though :).

I see, I dunno what the expression is exactly, I'm just always chasing an "ethereal" kinda feeling. I get a lot of crap for it though, I guess people want to be hit over the head with the character's emotion lol.

Are you moving on to posting speedpaints on youtube? I'm thinking of doing that too but maybe later in the future...

Speed paints in the sense that they are sped up, yeah. I mean technically the last 2 portraits were actual speedpaints as well, but it's only because they are examples for my commission page I'm gonna update. I dunno what else I'll do with the channel in the future though.

Thanks, and I guess. It's a pretty small amount for the time that's elapsed inbetween the last time we saw each other, not to mention only one of these is semi-usable in a portfolio if I have to exclude fanart.

I dunno, I've been researching hanfu for the past few months, but I can barely find anything about them, and I can't find anything before the Tang dynasty. It's pretty hard for me to get excited about anything which makes it hard for me to know what to fill my portfolio with, so I was researching 'cause I'm kind of interested in that aesthetic. I don't know if I could even get work with that type of stuff, but I figured it's better to have some sort of direction than none at all.

I was also thinking about actually going through my Scott Robertson book now because I don't doubt I have perspective problems, and it's stuff that applies to drawing anything. I've been looking into local art classes too since my guitar teacher is leaving town, but it's pretty expensive for my family.

I have no life Joyce, you do. I should be doing way more than this lol. Thank you for the compliment, glad you like it. Reddit hated it haha.

Tbh I dont have much of a life either...but I am busy trying to get that back yes, but still makes me sad not being able to draw much because of it
Also why did they hated it? D:

Woah Ambiguity,
I just went through your sketchbook for the first time and I'm in awe of all the progress. You know that I'm not even close to giving you a tip or something but I can let you know that I love it a lot: I love it a lot!
Keep rollin' ;)

Okay so I have no idea why, but I for some reason always thought you were a woman? I was pretty surprised when I went to your YouTube channel and this soothing male voice started talking.

But yeah, your stuff is awesome, and your iterative torso drawings makes me think I should probably kick myself into high gear and start doing the same. Also, these paintings from a while ago are freaking incredible; the colors and gestures and everything just come together so perfectly and I'm more than a little envious. :) Did you pick the colors from photos, or did you just eyeball them?

Thanks, I wish I could see it that way too. It looks like a bipolar rise and fall of skill to me lol. How do you even consistency ? And no worries about the advice, even if there is something specific that you do or don't like about my work, I think even knowing just that could be helpful to hear :).

How do you know I'm not an Asian girl facing 3/4 to the left who just happens to have a soothing male voice? ;)

Thanks, although I can't take credit for the color harmonies and gestures, they were present in the photos, they are just copies with fancy brushes. And I just eyeballed everything, I don't really feel the need to replicate colors exactly because if this was from life, that would be impossible anyway, and with photography the camera tends to crush values and color together so you're getting a filtered result in the first place. The exception I'd say is if there is a painting or doctored film with colors you really want to understand what makes it look a certain way(like a Monet painting or Wes Anderson film perhaps), then maybe color picking might be helpful.

Here's an assortment of random stuffs to justify posting here again lol. Not sure when I did what:

@Raga' and Joyce': Thanks, glad you like the blobs :).

I was going to wait to post until I had a lot more stuff, but I've been sick for the past 10 days, so I haven't been very productive.

I don't want my sketchbook to go completely silent again though, so here's some stuff I did before I got sick. These aren't really studies, just copies. I was watching some videos on creativity recently, and a lot of them seem to agree that you need to actually be doing the thing you want to be doing in order to increase your chances of coming up with ideas. So far it hasn't worked out at all, but hopefully there is something to be said for drawing constantly even if it's not directly in line with your goals?.....Yeah, I dunno:

The last one was me trying to meme on kaloyan, but it accidentally backfired because it's better than my figures normally look lmao.
