Subject title: The frivolous hand of Telepurte

Frivolous (Adj.)
not having any serious purpose or value

Hi guys, welcome to my sketchbook
I post all my digital work here but I keep my traditional in private.

A little bit about me:
I am a young man with 19 years of age. I have no artistic goals except to keep walking forward.
It would be cool to work as an animator in big name studios, but that's not my end goal.

I started taking art seriously in January 21st, 2016; but I apparently have drawings from 2010 and earlier, which I assume is when I started.
Either way I was drawing when I was a kid but didn't draw daily until beginnings of 2016.

What you can see below are the first images of the daily drawing journey, but you can jump to the latest page where you can see the most recent stuff and improvements and whatever.

If you for some reason decide to take the time to look through every page of my cringe old stuff, you can expect to find the story of David and Amy in crude, raw, and unrefined comics.
Also a lot of practice pages with lots of sketches with little to no purpose except to have fun and "get mileage", but I've come to realize that you gotta think while drawing, otherwise you just practice making mistakes.
And finally, occasional animations especially in the later pages.
You can pretty much summarize my sketches as "I want to make something cool, but I also want to have fun" which leads to less studies and more goofing around.
Fun fact! you can see how I was feeling a certain day by paying attention to the writings and more importantly the facial expressions if there are any.
Throughout most of the sketchbook, I would respond with drawings, but not anymore because it's a cumbersome task that kinda isn't really worth it anymore.

Anyway! Enjoy, and by all means, leave some feedback!

Hey Telepurte! Welcome aboard!
It's a funny start, and a nice one too. I don't know what you're aiming for, maybe anime style, for what I can see?
Anyway, you're going in the right direction, that perspective piece looks great.

Keep it up!

The caption on this image is so wrong.
This dog knows exactly what he's doing. He's mixing the acids into the coffe, just the way like it.
Just a bastard.

Thank you very much!
I have no idea what I'm aiming for right now, but... in the future I'll... I'll.... I dunno...
I'm just winging it I guesss.
Thanks for the feedback!

That's the best way to have coffee.

Alright here's today's work.

Well, knowing that you don't know where to go with your drawings, I'll be pushing you towards the "your own style" side. 8-)
I'm kinda bringing the hate upon me right now, but, in my opinion anime has no personal style at all, besides the various that are known. You can't go further with it, it is what it is and just that.
In the other hand, with your personal style you can develop as many forms as you want... it gives you the space to do it. For example, the eyes.
I'm a clear defender of the personal work. I think that we all have our own thing going on inside, and we just have to let it out, no strings attached.

I repeat, it's all my opinion and I don't want to hurt anybody's feelings.

Keep on practicing!

Well, so many people do anime today that it's not really unique to anyone. You can however take anime as a stepping stone, like set it as a goal to be able to draw anime, then take your own steps from there. Some people genuinely like anime though, and will get extremely good at doing anime style, because they just like it. But others might just see anime as a "I'll do anime because everyone else is", and so they'll get good at it, then they'll go their own way from there.
You can develop your personal style with a base of nothing and entirely create your own style, or you can develop your own personal style with a base of someone else's style.
I dunno how to explain it but Sycra has a recent video about style and the different ways you can develop a style.

Hey thanks! Seeing so many artists here makes me feel like I don't really know what I'm doing :P
Glad you like it

I had a lot of non-art related stuff going on today so it was hard doing this one

It's the opposite of a bird's eye. So looking up from the ground.

The new sketch looks a bit sad.

Yeah... I feel like my art is getting worse and I don't know what to do to get better.

Oh no! I didn't mean your art was sad, just the characters all seemed to have a sad expression. I've definitely seen today's poses on pixellovely haha :D Keep it up.

If you want my 2 cents, I think some serious free form perspective drawing would help you the most right now. You're tackling anatomy and really hard stuff like that right now, but your ellipses and mannequins don't show me you have the form and perspective understanding to pull that off yet. You've got a good work ethic, I think if you just apply that to some practice with basic volumes(cube, cylinder, sphere, cone, pyramid) you'll see improvement quicker if you really focus.

Yes!! YESSS! I'll take your two cents, heck I'd take the fluff from your pockets if it means I'll get better.
I looked back at the art I've done recently and I think you're right. I still have trouble with basic forms, and even if I do have an idea of form, I'm not using it in my artwork.
Thank you so much!!

In conjunction with what Ambiguity said, you could also do the exercises presented on this site:
http://drawabox.com/

I truly believe they will enhance your work flow, once you start tackling forms/shapes more often. Just my opinion of course.

Keep drawing!
