Subject title: Hybrid's Drawlings Vol. 2

Yo! I thought it was about time to remake my sketchbook.

Allow me to reintroduce myself!

The (nick)name's Remmie! I'm 15, I've been drawing since September, 2012, and I love animating, designing characters, and writing. I draw mostly traditional (save a few digital pieces here and there), and I tend to work with just pencil (specifically a mechanical with 0.5 lead. If I use 0.7 or a normal tyconderoga pencil, it feels gigantic). I tend to draw humans with animal characteristics and vise versa, as well as a lot of monster like creatures, hence my username. I absolutely love fantasy things, fluffy things, and GIGANTIC animal ears!

So here's some new(ish) doodles to kick off my fresh sketchbook! ^u^

Did I forget to mention I've gotten into sculpting?

I had taken pictures of this littl fox dude as I made him. The final result looks a ton better in real life :U

The deer head was a Christmas gift for someone.

Thank you, you two!

I want to start doing more digital art but I've always struggled with a painting. I think I'm getting the hang of it??? I really like bright blue and grey :V

Another WIP of this painting :U I think I'm going to try to print this out considering my mom has some really nice print paper and make it into a bookmark. My teacher can laminate it at school and I can put a hole punch in the top and tie some cool string and beads to it ;u;

I just have a few, really small questions so I didn't think it was worth putting in the critique section, so I'll just put it in here.

- Are the feet too small?
- I don't know what colors to make the crown. I feel like the white doesn't pop much considering theres a lot on the rabbit.

I'm digging this new process for painting. I feel its a lot more like my traditional shading process and it's a lot more comfortable.

Some doodle things I guess. I have a stupid B- in art class, which is the same as my algebra grade and I suck at algebra. I'm really angry, depressed, and sad right now and I really just want to give up on everything at the moment.

Hey don't let that get you down too much. As one artist put it, "If you quit now you'll suck forever".

Don't give up! I was told in school that I was a waste of skill because of what I drew. It's likely that you were marked down because of your specific style, which is really judgemental and horrible.

You draw because you love it! If you gave up you'd be giving up a big part of you. And that's no fun :c

This is amazing, I love the style! So flowy it's very nice to look at. Also, grades mean nothing really, you should always look to what you grade yourself and work on that.

Don't worry about your grades in art - you're far better than I was at your age :D

And to be honest, grading art is pretty stupid anyway, you can't really apply an objective grade to something as subjective as art

I've heard so many great artists say that art grades aren't important at all... what really matters if you want to become an artist is: having good art, making connections and being decent with people. Now, with what I see from your sketchbook: you already have art that catches the eye and looks awesome, people here seem to like you as a person, and you don't seem like a douche at all when I read what you write. You basically have all that it takes, you just need to keep going. So try to be above the negative and accept the grade, because it's there, but know that it doesn't mean much. And cheer up! Would be a waste to see such a young talent being sad, don't let it get to you.
