Winged Victory Mercy.

This is one of those pieces that took me way too long to complete and left me exhausted, but boy am I glad I made it! I hadn't been able to draw as much for a while, so this was a brutal way to break the ice and get back into it. It worked though! And although it is a bit rough here and there (because in the end I felt like my eyes couldn't focus on the drawing anymore), I'm pretty happy with the result, and I learned a ton =).

So good to see your art again. Glad you stuck it through with the winged angel piece - it seems like it was really worth it! :D

I do feel like one problem is that there doesn't seem to be a consistent light source? For instance, the gold parts of her scepter are lit from the bottom, but the white parts are lit from above, and some parts of her body seem pillow-shaded (e.g. her hand and face). But yeah, I do think all the little details are really great, especially her hair and the gold parts of her wings. :)

I definitely agree with you, it's the weakest point of the piece and probably mine, too. Gotta work on that a lot more! ^^ And thank you, I do like the hair myself, too, ended up very pretty =D.

Hey everyone! Been quite busy lately, which is good =). I'm pretty happy with the amount of work I've been able to do these past few weeks, and I think I'm getting better at the things I wanted to learn (mainly better faces, general rendering, metal and color). I believe right now I should try and learn as much as I can about light, since it's the most confusing thing for me at the moment, and probably do more full-body and clothing designs on the side. Any tips and tricks on that will be appreciated, as always =).

Anyway, here's what I've been doing (most of it from oldest to newest):

Pretty old piece I forgot to post:

Bunch of sketches and unfinished stuff:
