Concept Art for a Dagger
Didnt post a link to the video, here it is, but its nothing special: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9vbv421e4m8

And my latest stuff are my studies and a concept for a Blacksmith Workshop:

MarkusCreation_blacksmith_studies_small.jpg

blacksmith_small.jpg

I will begin to try to create my own world starting with this blacksmith workshop and then expanding it and maybe making a story around it.
We'll see how that turns out and if I am able to come up with interesting stuff...

I guess thats it for now.

hey, I see you have some problem with lines and form. I think this website is going to help a ton if you give some time to do the exercises.

Hope it helps. :D

don't worry about it, in way everybody does have some problems with line and form but what I meant is that you don't show much confidence in your lines or awereness of the basic geometric forms.
for instance look at these lines.
this one is kind sketchy and doesn't look appeling
Image
this one is a better line.

practing lines will give your drawing and sketchs a more confident and clean look.

Here is something that can help your construction.

From now on I have to practice more structured again.

I will return to heads and figures (from imagination) again and focus a bit more on that.
Not that I wont do anything else, but I have to do structured practice at least additionally.

Trying to construct (digitally) a "Fortcropolis". Think I will do another version with a squared tower.

Does it work at all?

your figures are good, but (this has been mentioned before) i think you need to work on your lines.
they look pretty scribbly and scratchy, you should try draw with less brush strokes
i think that will really help make your art look more finished!

I'm not sure what a fortcropolis is, but he proportions seem very off. If you look at a greek temple, you see how tiny a human is compared to one pillar, the tower on the other side would be very small, or if the tower is extremely huge too, it could be shown with a lot of small windows for example - suggesting a lot of etages. Also, it looks like you didn't apply the perspective of the tower to the rest of the temple.

I can try. In digital when I draw only 1 line it never looks smooth or natural, but very edgy or pixel-y. I'll see if I can improve that.

Fortcropolis is a neologism that I made up and it means a fortified acropolis.
Good suggestions, although I think my idea doesnt work at all in the first place..

Second try, but doesnt look aesthetic, too. Maybe the idea was dumb. :D

sounds like you need to use a bigger brush and possibly a bigger canvas
what size canvas are you using? you should probably try to sketch on a canvas at least 1000px both sides and at least a 5px brush
otherwise it's gonna be super pixelly and you won't be able to zoom in far

I already use a 10.000 x like 8.000 px size canvas because of that. It makes it a bit better, but still very many small lines just add up to a smoother line than just one line.
Maybe just practice.

Here's my latest speedpaint. Its a card for the Online Card Game 'Hearthstone - Heroes of Warcraft'.
Its the artwork that the Dreadlord I posted in the Art Questions-Thread was from.

This is the absolute best I am able to create at my current stage in digital. Took me very long time and even if you might see some flaws if you are more advanced,
I really like how it turned out:

Hi! You have nice drawings but there are some things that bother me:

 I'm not an architecture expert, but I think that you should learn a bit of perspective in order to draw architecture. Do some perspective drawings, starting with the horizont line and vanishing point. Then use big shapes to defind your buliding. Then you can move to 2 point perspective and 3 point perspective.

 I also think that you should do some gesture drawings beside breaking down people to basic shapes if you want to do figure drawings. Figures with gestures have more life and look more intresting (surely for me :) )

 You should get rid of scratchy lines. There are a lot of tutorials online that teaches how to get cleaner lines.

Anyway, don't get discouraged ! Keep on posting your progress ! :D
