So I got another request on Deviantart (Should really start charging people for these). The person asked for some fanart of Lashawna from Total Drama Island and Suga Mama from the Proud Family in.... I guess slingkinis? I'm not really a fanart, especially the kind that just sexualizes cartoon characters. But I took it as a chance to take an assignment, set a time frame and finish it by then. Anyway, here is the sketch so far.

Hey Geryes

seems like your corrent method for drawing your beutyfull pin-ups has become second nature :-).. they are indeed looking good.

if i was to offer advice, id say try and eksperiment from other methods, and see how that might enrich your own style and prefrences.
should i point a finger in any direction for figure drawing methods, id say look at: -> Steve huston, Hampton, vilppu or loomis.
They all have very diffrent aproaches, and some finding stuff from them to use as your own, can somtimes really give a boost.

keep the half-naked ladies comming :-)

Thanks dude! I appreciate the feedback and the suggestions. I've looked at some of these before but I oculd stand to go through them again. I really prefer loomis and Steve Housten. They do clean stuff :).

Hey Greyes,

I think I agree with Engell. Your stuff does look good, it's well proportioned, you can do varied poses well and your drawings have a solid sense of form. But don't be afraid too really push and exaggerate. Use really thick as well as thin lines. Mess around with different proportions and body types, do some really really rough gestures. You must draw whatever you feel like of course, but I think it would help, give them some variation and mojo.
What are you doing? Stop browsing the forum and get drawing.

Thanks Peteman! I'm glad that you guys think my figures are coming along. I'm just glad I can get them proportionally right. But I will start experimenting with perspective and proportions moving forward :) Thanks for the critique!

In the mean time. More of the usual

Did quite a bit of drawing today at work..... slow day I guess. I like this batch. Trying to take the advice of other people and push some proportions and perspective, and looking at references as well.

Damn Geryes. You're really pushing yourself in quantity. :o
I love it.

Where you're trying to push your shape-language: I think you're doing great, these are starting to look more pretty on the eyes already and I think you'll have an easy time because of your background in design. The underlying principle of pushing and pulling shapes and finding those that work together really is the exact same thing at the core. :)
I think it might help if you, next to practicing from photographs, maybe look (or also draw) how far some of the artists that you like and push forms. I believe this will help to get an idea the range you can work in before breaking the figures faster. ^^

Thank you so much! I appreciate th critique and comments. I definitely want to start using references more and just trying to draw them rather than push on my imagination. There are a bunch of artists that I generally look at on DA too. I'll keep them coming though :)

More figure doodles and some more of my OC Demon girl Jetta
