Arghgh this is so scary :? . I asked if I should start a sketchbook or not here (topic: http://www.sycra.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=14138). I'm scared posting this even though people did assure me that it would be fine (I am such a chicken).

Anyway, here is a drawing. I'm trying to get back to drawing after being sick twice in a row. It lasted about a month, it was really frustrating because I'm still not at the level I used to be. Oh well. Just means I need to work harder ;)

Yeah Syra's forum is so nice. I have no idea why I'm scared. I mean I have to start putting out stuff one day, so why not now in a place with so great people :P

You're too kind. Looked at your sketchbook. I really liked it. Your skills are so varied! How do you do it?

Well the first thing I did in art was gesture. I'm glad you got something out of what I posted. I think that the most important thing with gesture is not to overcomplicate things. It's not about drawing the body, it's about drawing it's movement. Drawing the body will hold you back as you need to exaggerate the movement and not just draw what you see.

@Larry - Thank you, no need to welcome me. I have been here for at lest two months now :)

Today was a shoddy day, I kind of had a meltdown. Apparently drawing eggs bore me so much that I just couldn't do it :/ . Oh well.

I haven't uploaded anything in a while because I decided to take a pause when it came to drawing. Just a small pause so I'm back to draw again :D

I drew this yesterday, I was just correcting some drawings I made in hand a few weeks ago because those where really bad.

Something to keep in mind is that the wrists are usually about in line with the crotch. So the hands should hang just below the line of the crotch. Keep it up:3

Thank you Wolfen, I'm a bit unsure what you meant by "portrait studies". Are you talking about my last post?

I wanted to redraw my first drawing in this sketchbook. I don't get it. It has only been about 2 months.

Your gestures are something to be envious of! They're really simple, but so expressive at the same time. That's something everybody can learn from. Simple can be beautiful. ^~^

I'm really excited to see what other content you'll put up!~

There is certainly more room for improvement but keep going. If you're interested into checking some great blogs in regards to gesture check these 3 out:

Look forward to see your progress 3 months from now :)

I'm sorry I haven't written back to any of you guys. I appreciate your feedback. The company I am going to work at has had some problems lately and I'm trying to sort it out.

Vixe: Thank you! I hope I will improve even more the next two months!

Exilious: Thank you! I think it is important for (at least my) gestures to be very simple. I like it that way. I can always add more complexity on top if I want to it to be more advanced.

Zearthus: I'm glad there is room for improvement, otherwise I would be stuck at this level  . Thank you for the resources. I will take a look at them in the future when I go back to looking at gesture. Right now I'm mostly focusing on: anatomy, perspective, hands, hair and such. I do want to look at them, don't get me wrong. I just can't promise to do it right now.

I have been away from my scanner the last couple of days, so I haven't been able to post anything in a while.

I noticed that none of the chins were pointy so I did a Sycra. I'm obviously no way near as good as him, but it was fun.
