Subject title: Plumbum's Alchemical sketchbook

I wanted to show a finished drawing since a lot of people like to post those.

I drew someone else's character. Not my design. I also uploaded it on deviant art.

It seems like I like doing a million things at once. No, I have no idea what that blood(?) was doing under my elbow.

Vixie: Loomis is great, 'nuff said. Of course I have structure under the cloth. It is super important xD thank you.

Idk why, but my morning doodle ended up being a bit more than just a doodle.

More Loomis "skeletons" this time from pictures and not from the book.

Wip portrait. Yeah I know the mouth is weird right now, my drawing could have been more accurate, but I'm still learning

I used a lot of time on the face and I kind of liked it. Then I realised that I have no idea how to draw the body more detailed and then I gave up :( . Back to Loomis.

Spend my whole day on these stupid spines. Other than that they were fun to draw. It really helps my understand 3d better. I like learning from Proko better than from Loomis. Not because Proko is better (although he is more in depth), it's because Proko doesn't seem to use idealised proportions. I prefer that over style when I'm learning.

Oh snap, that improvement :O That is amazing!! Also, your gesture drawings are so amazing and flowy. I can see the people in them despite the fact they're so minimalistic! I'm jealous XD

Also, I love the name of your sketchbook.

@Oli Actually I have no idea where I'm going with this (style wise). The only thing I know is that I need to be good enough to make money off art and that I need to be good enough to illustrate my graphic novel. Thank you for the tips!

@Glass Oh, thanks. I felt pretty terrible yesterday because I didn't feel like I drew enough, your comment cheered me up a bit :) . I have no idea why I started drawing gestures like this other than I didn't like/understand how Proko did his gestures. I'm actually really interested in Alchemy and I really want to draw some of the old Alchemical drawings in the future. I don't know what it is about them, they just look really great and odd (like a man with a sun for a face and a woman with a moon for a face having sex in the water. And that's the more normal imagery).

Yay I did more stuff:
I drew a few figures, but I felt like I was missing something. A lot of erasing was going on, so I decided I would study a bit of Bridgman. The drawing on the left is a Bridgman study. Everything else is from imagination.
Image
More Bridgman, mostly focusing on structure and form.
Image
I drew a character holding a piece of paper. I found her kind of cute, so I tried to draw her again a few times. I think I failed.
Image
These drawing are from pictures. I haven't done these in a while. I think I improved ;)

This person wrote to me on Deviant art that I should blend my values more. I really don't want to do that as I like hard and semi hard transitions (like the transitions on the boobs of the value study). I don't know what do write to them without making it sound like I'm that person that just explains all the criticisms away.

oooo, that painting of that girl is so nice!!

@plumbum, you can thank them and tell them what you said right there >w<. You don't have to prove anything to them, only you know if you're trying to explain it away or if its a personal preference. I really like the way you did that piece too
Please excuse my ridiculous amounts of emoticon face usage. (QwQ)b

@Octogon: Thank you! I spend way too much time on the painting, but it was worth it :) .
@Thank you, It's nice to know that I'm are improving :) .

Messed around trying to get used to using my whole arm again (was using my wrist due to too much friction on my screen. Brought a glove and now I have almost no friction at all :D )
