Subject title: Gevoian's Sketchbook

CRITICISM ISN'T WELCOME, IT IS NEEDED, so basically you can critique me on my sketchbook

My name is Artiom Gevoian, I am 17 years old. I have been drawing since I could remember and usually have done it in school and rarely at home, the main reason I drew was because I liked when people gave me compliments since it balanced the insults. I sometimes would stop drawing for a year like some other starting/beginner artists. Now my reason for drawing is to become extremely good at it and as fast as possible so I draw in all my freetime and I stay up quite late which is bad for my sleeping schedule, I only don't draw when Im doing homework. It has been about a year where I have dedicated my life into art, everyday for about a year I have been drawing for many hours, although I created a sketchbook on here recently because I like seeing peoples sketchbooks since it feels like the pages are never ending, I'm referring to sycra's sketchbook but there are many others too. I like to draw manga but I draw realism in an art studio I attend on the weekends, and right now I am focusing on my fundamentals since I have two major goals :
1. Become a professional artist - professional for me is someone who can make a living off art but I am fine with not making a living right away but this is one goal I will be chasing for most of my life
2. Make a manga after I learn my fundamentals, aqquire a lot of skills in color, values, backgrounds, perspective, and a bunch of other things.

My instagram is gevoian, i post older art on there, all my new art is on here.
I also give credit to reference and my imagination so please read my messages before each page so it doesn't look like im copying or using someones work without credit.

I hope you enjoy my sketchbook as I will be putting in ALOT of work into this for the rest of my life or until this site goes down which will be sad :(

Hha I'm kidding, anyway, do you do caricatures? Some of them kind of lean that way.

Hiya!

Welcome to the forum :D

It's good to see that you've decided to commit to art. It's not the easiest thing to stay committed to, especially on bad days. But it's so worth it for the good days and those "hey I can do this!" moments.

You've got a nice start here. I look forward to seeing full body sketches and some coloured stuff too!

I'll pop back to see how you're doing!

My second page of my online journal, 1 Page everyday. =)
These poses are not from imagination, I used some reference site like posemaniacs, but most of the faces are in my style.

so I can't draw cute girls, or feminine looking girls so I decided to draw some ref of them and I only liked one of them, In my previous page, the girl on the bottom with the scarf I also like but I think i got her to look cute by accident. Next page wil probably be anatomy and I will draw as many as i can fit on the page, some with reference and some from my head.

some more figure drawing with some anatomy, the anatomy seemed stiff for obvious reasons, i didn't draw organic shapes at first, i just went straight into the detail and anatomy, so i wil be doing gesture drawing tommorow, ill try to fit as many as i can into 1 page, I also didn't want to just do figures since i hate being reptitive, I want my art, and especially sketchbook to be diverse and an experiment thing rather than doing the same old thing.

I really enjoy/envy the way you draw clothing. The folds and shading are so nice~

This time i do few studies of hair, draw from real life ref, then i draw hair my own way which is def wrong since i put highlights everywhere, and i also do a few doodles here and there, i think what i need to do next is search the same hairstyle or same pic but in different lightscources and see how it affects the highlights and the color of the hair, but ill probably also do half figure drawing in the page tommorow since studies get tiresome.

so i got bored of doing so many studies so i decided to do half imagination and half figure drawings with reference even tho i changed some things with some figures to make it more, idk i guess appealing. and the faces of the figures are obviously not realistic, its in my animeish style.

If anyone was checking if there was a page yesterday and the day before, I apologize, I took a day off to do all the homework i put to the last day due to drawing. Heres my next page, i did some drawings of hair models on this site, i took the pose and features but did it in more of my style than realism, and i also looked at cube brushes tutorial on painting skin and i dont think it looks as good as his, i only like the eyes when i zoom in really close but far away looks bad =(

I think she looks really good! And I actually really like how you've shaded her skin.

Just keep drawing and painting! You'll get where you want to be if you put the work in :)
