Hey there!
I've been stalking this forum silently for a while and finally build up the courage to start my own little sketchbook  I would love to earn some sidemoney with art sometime in the future, but at the time it's just a hobby.
feel free to write down what you think, i'm open for critique or a little chat :) I'm afraid I won't be able to keep up with the quantity that most of you are posting here, since I'm a student in a non artistic field and university eats up most of my time u_u but I will try to post something every now and then.

So, enough talk for now! I will just start off with this little scetch i did yesterday

Welcome to the forums! Love the rough sketchy lines, always creates mood in drawings.

Some small advice, he looks kinda cross-eyed and his lips/skin could be a little more pale with small touches of pinks/reds. There's still some resemblance there however, so good job on that!

@ Rose-Davies: Oh man now that you pointed it out I can see it too, his eyes really are pointing in different directions! Thanks for that :) (and I looked through your scetchbook too, really impressive stuff!)

Also, here is the last finished picture i made plus another scetch from a few days ago (I hope fanart is ok on here?)

Welcome to the forums :D

Yea fanart is just fine here. Really like the expressions on those two. I usually just stay in my comfort zone drawing the same bland expressions lol

I noticed, that I spend way to much time figuring out the Hands while drawing and that they often look super blocky and stiff (the weird dude I scribbeled down in my lunch break is a pretty good example for that /D), so I set myself the little goal to scetch down 100 Hands :) Also here's a small figure study because i liked the movement in it.

Hey there
I wanted to use the weekend to get some studies done but somehow I couldn't focus at all =.= Look at this!

Maybe I should try some painting in greyscale? .... you now, since I'm obviously still overchallenged with colours

Oh well at least I have some more hands to show

Haha thanks a lot :D There might even come a few unaccidental fanarts when the show starts again ;)

Experimented a bit with colouring and murdered this with textures  Not sure if I like were this is going (I was trying to loose up my colouring and make it more scetchy) but it sure was fun :D

heeeey :) I tried greyscale painting + colouring afterwards with this here
just curious sycra.png

Not gonna lie, it felt really strange to me and I found myself correcting and fumbling with the adjustment bars way too often...
Here is the black and white version, if you want to make a comparison. I never coloured this way before, so if you see any mayor problems, please let me know :)

also some more hands

Had again one of those stupid weeks were I barely could find time to even lift the pencil D/
So here are some more hands (wich I'm actually quite proud of because the poses are pretty hard and I don't think I would've been able to pull them off before)
img078.jpg

...and some last minute scribbeled vikings, because I need to get better at drawing manly men.
img079.jpg

Hopfully I'll have more to show next week

Hey again
It seems like I'm settling down for one post every weekend. I think thats a reasonable and realistic schedule which i will try to keep up :)

More fanart, again. I justify it as colour an speedpaint study xD

I've heard that fanart is not so welcome in any presentations that possible employers could see. Is that really the case or is it an overstatement? I mean, sure I wouldnt put fanart in portfolios for universitys but why not put it on your website that you also link to possible clients and such? Oh well, if I'm ever to make something like it I'll have to include fanarts anyways because otherwise it would be nearly empty xD

aaaaand as always the next bunch of hands! feeling more and more confident with every bunch

Hey there, time for the weekly post :)

I've found a portrait drawing course in my area, here are the first results. 15 min. each
img081.jpg

I also studied smoke and fire and how to get it done in a "pretty" and stylized way because I'll need it for a picture I have in mind. I think I quite like the results :)

aaaand some hands!

Sunday is update day :D

started a new wip. I wanna do a series of pictures in that style but i have to look up bodyshading again before I continue. (fun fact: since I'm doind the hand studies I'm also having less trouble with drawing feet)
crustacea2.png

and some studies i did before
crustacea studies.png

the next portraits. I think they turned out really bad this time, it was loud in the room and I can't focus when it's noisy :/ but hey, sycra always preaches to be honest with your mistakes, right?
img085.jpg

and hands, of course ;) I really have to tackle poses with foreshortening next time
