Salam! Jaafer Elsadig, I'm Sudanese, recently moved to Amman, Jordan. sadly unlike most people i didn't draw as a kid, never really had the interest until I got into Anime & Manga when I was about 18 a few month later (at the time a graphic design student) I decided I'd love nothing more than to draw for a living so here I am, somewhere in that process lol...
To start the sketchbook off here are some really bad (mainly proportion-wise) sketches of people I met at some poetry event (from photos)

Wow so many of you share a lot of common things with me. Although I'm a ui/logo designer in my case (self study mainly), studying ICT at school. But none of the less, its never too late to start another interest. So keep going, jaafer! And welcome aboard :)

Today was a productive day for me :) played around in manga studio, sketched some characters on paper and in the end I decided to finalize one, you can watch the process video here:

ohh the second one feels kind of like sort of a cut-out, mixed media type of style... i think
I like it a lot. Especially the texture that was applied all over. ^^

Thank you :) just added a bit of noise, makes it feel a bit more 'tangible'

I thought of the game Shovel Knight when I say this piece, was there any inspiration from this other than Mike?

That game looks fun, still haven't had a chance to try it. I forgot to mention I based it off of these knights in the game legend of zelda:Wind waker which i used to play as a kid on gamecube.

the first couple pages were me messing about with markers, then with the help of ErnieTheMighty (gave me great tips for drawing kids) I copied some artists trying to figure out characteristics of children and how they tackled them, i was gonna continue but I realized i suck at drawing cloth and had some anatomical weaknesses so I started practicing those, after that I found some tutorials (one by Draw with jazza and another by Kienan Lafferty) on how to draw fat people. After practicing for a bit I drew that jack black-ish dude and inked, colored it in photoshop, oh and btw if anyone is having trouble drawing smooth lines in photoshop etc. try a tool called Lazy Nezumi it helped me a bit.

Heyyyy guys, man I've missed being on this site, I forgot my password at some point and which email i signed up with so i couldn't retrieve it...then eventually i just gave up, but one day i remembered and as a result I'm back lol.
the last couple month for me have been tough, it started out with me trying to force a style then realizing that that was only hindering my progress so I went back to the fundamentals, form, perspective, anatomy etc. and slowly a natural style started to emerge ( and is still emerging) that actually somewhat appealed to me, but for that to happen I had to let go of what I felt i should be drawing etc. and focus on what I actually loved, in this case I was trying to paint digitally but it wasn't what I was into, I'm more of a fan of getting finalized ideas down quickly and exploring them, also the fact that I wanted to do comics meant that I needed a quick process to produce results, and most importantly I wanted a process that I actually enjoyed. (I'm gonna be spending so much time on it, might as well enjoy it :D)
I'm still exploring and experimenting so there is plenty of room for growth but from now on I want to start creating finished pieces and mini comics and learning/studying what I need to complete those projects. Anyways enough ranting, here's a few drawings from what I've done recently...
